I started weaving in 1999 from master weaver, Maybelle Taylor Bennett and together we have been teaching the fiber arts class at New Community ArtSpace. For me, weaving has been both a metaphor for creative community and the practice of a very tedious and process oriented art form. Weaving offers me the opportunity to problem solve with others through complex patterns and glitches with looms but also celebrate in the success of each phase of a project and the final product.
